Throughout the Bay Area, there are quite a few bars and breweries in places you wouldn't expect to find them. St. James Gate is no exception; when driving down old country road in Belmont, the last thing you would expect to find would be a lively bar, yet this bar defies all odds.

St. James Gate has a similar aura to other bars and breweries in the Bay Area, where it feels like there are different venues in one area. The inside of the bar is lively, while the outside is spacious and feels like a completely separate entity from the inside.

The staff is nice and friendly, and the food is great. Combine that with the ping pong table and couches/heat lamps they have outside makes this the perfect spot to host a work event. Their drinks are top-notch, making this a great happy hour spot as well.

One of the best caveats about St. James Gate is there's always some event going on. Whether or not it's Trivia Tuesdays, Karaoke on Wednesdays/Thursdays, or live Music on Fridays/Saturdays, there's bound to be at least one event during the week that will pique your interest. This makes St. James Gate one of the best bars to come to if you want to do something eventful, but not sure what.

If you're looking for a venue for an after-work event, something to do on a weeknight that isn't too over the top but enough to keep you engaged, or just go for a beer, St. James Gate is a great spot for all possibilities.
